She began formally studying Breast Implant Illness when a number of her patients came to her with concerns that their breast implants were making them sick. In March, Dr. Lawrence was the ONLY physician who presented data from patients at the FDA hearing in March 2019 in Washington, D.C. Her study is ongoing, but so far has shown promising results.
